Dance has never been captured so beautifully by anyone other than the famous painter Edgar Degas. Degas and the dance is a massive collection which holds sketches, paintings, and sculptures all depicting the magnificence he saw in the dancers around him. I find this collection to be so gorgeous and this really embodies my vision of “art”.
Ballet Rehearsal |
My favorite paintings in the collections are those scenes depicted in cool blue tones that he uses when the dancers are actually preforming on stage. I've included two paintings above and below to show the emotions I am trying to convey.

Degas was a born in France in July of 1834 and died in September of 1917. He was one of the founders of Impressionist Art, a term characterized by bright colors and small brush strokes to depict light upon the subject. Over half of Edgar Degas' works throughout his life depicted dancers and scenes from the ballet.
