Roberto Capucci
Continuing with our upcoming theme of museums in general I decided to browse through the upcoming exhibits at the museum I frequent most at home. The Philadelphia Museum of Art is one that I frequent often when I'm home. Specifically I hope to catch the Roberto Capucci: Art into Fashion exhibit before it closes on June 5th, 2011. The advertising photograph caught my eye, from the Berlin collection of 1992 shown at the right. Although classic Impressionist shows usually catch my eye, I couldn't help but adore the fashions that Capucci has made. As I researched the artist I found more and more pieces that I love. His creations tie together through their beautiful flow of color and fabric. “Nature is my mentor. In my garden, quietly watching with a childlike sense of fantasy, has helped to instill in me a sense of balance and a constant search for perfection, proportion, harmony.”- Roberto Capucci. He has been dubbed the 'fashion maestro" and his pieces truly do back up this name. This Italian fashion designer is still alive today at the age of 79 and continues to make his impact on the rest of the fashion world.
