A few days ago my English group presented our final website project (the link above). Overall I had a good experience with both my group and Google sites which we used to create our pages. We chose the topic of Atlanta performing arts to base our website on. The guide that we created allowed the user to research different performance shows in the area as well as learn more about the venues in the city.
Google Sites itself was very easy to use, especially for beginner website creators like ourselves. Taylor put together the base of the website and each person was assigned a topic to research and create pages on. I was responsible for the dance portion of the website. I chose different companies to highlight and provide information about including the Atlanta Ballet and other smaller dance groups. Although we were creating a website for other people to use, I learned a lot myself about all the performance opportunities in Atlanta.
I think this was a very good project especially for first semester freshman to help us get acclimated to the large city around us. Before coming to school I really didn't know anything about the city because I came all the way down from Philadelphia. Looking back, this project and many of the other classroom assignments helped me to explore the city and visit exhibits which I probably wouldn't have gotten to myself.
